How to Join Us

Initial Contact

The first step is the phone call. We need to know who you are and whether you'd fit into the programs, so we always start the process on a personal level. After you get in touch with the Program Director and sign an enrollment / release form, we can arrange for an on-slope evaluation. Alternatively, the first contact is made with the Head Coach at an event or on the slopes, but the process is the same.

Evaluation

The second step is the evaluation. The Program Director and the appropriate Head Coach will set you up with one of our coaches and put you through a workout, looking at your skills and talents. This one-to-one evaluation will show us if and where you fit into the program. Once we know that, then you need to decide which level of commitment you can make.

Choices

Your choices, of course, depend on your age, ability, and academic situation. Those who are just looking at Hopefuls will only train and compete on selected weekends and holidays and can fit into the program easily. Skiers and boarders who are in middle and high school must choose between full-time training and weekend training programs. Graduates and masters have a lot more flexibility!

  • Weekend Programs
Weekend programs exist for all age groups and disciplines.
  • Full-time
Graduates can train full-time, arranging their college schedules around their skiing, choosing morning classes, arranging semesters, or even by postponing college temporarily.
Middle and High-school athletes make arrangements for their academics. Some options are:
    1. To commute from their local high school every afternoon (and make up work missed during competitions.)
    2. To home-school during the five months of the season, living at a local home or condo.
    3. To attend the Killington Mountain School for academics and train with Team Killington. Applicants should be aware that Killington Mountain School is a separate entity and charges tuition in addition to the prices and costs listed below. KMS accepts boarding and day students.
