HOPEFULS PROGRAM GUIDE

Who is a Hopeful?

• For children ages 6- 12 years old. (Children must be six years old by December 31st of the current season to participate.) Though the majority of children are 7 to 10 years old, some who begin late may take part in the program until they are 11 or 12 years old.
• For members of the Killington Ski Club. Not a member? Joining is easy. Call the KSC main office at (802) 422 - 6797 for more details.
• For skiers and riders who plan to have consistent attendance over the winter.
• For children whose ability will allow them to ski and ride on intermediate terrain like that of Snowdon. Because our skiers and riders will ski all over Killington, it is very helpful if they are capable of riding the poma lift as the associated trails are frequently used for training purposes.
• They must be skilled enough, strong enough and mature enough to take part in an all day program.

Most Hopeful graduates will move to appropriate Alpine Racing, Freestyle/Mogul, Snowboarding Programs. For those who would like to continue in an organized non-competitive program, we offer the "Post Hopefuls" program.

On rare occasions, we must tell a parent that their child is not ready for the Hopefuls Program. Please don't rush them. Understand that it will make for a happier and more meaningful experience, if we wait until they are skilled enough, strong enough and mature enough to participate. For those who are unable to be a part of the Hopefuls Program, the Killington Perfect Turn Children Center at Rams Head also has excellent programs for children.

Should space be limited due to availability, our registration priority will be 1) Hopefuls from last season, 2) siblings of current Hopefuls, 3) children of last season's KSC parents, 4) children new to the KSC.
